National Fertilizers jumps on plan to set-up Bentonite Sulphur Plant at Panipat

National Fertilizers is currently trading at Rs 34.90, up by 0.80 points or 2.35% from its previous closing of Rs 34.10 on the BSE.

The scrip opened at Rs 34.65 and has touched a high and low of Rs. 35.35 and Rs 34.20 respectively. So far 69953 shares were traded on the counter.

The BSE group 'B' stock of face value Rs. 10 has touched a 52 week high of Rs 38.25 on 01-Jul-2016 and a 52 week low of Rs. 23.05 on 23-Sep-2015.

Last one week high and low of the scrip stood at Rs. 36.00 and Rs. 33.50 respectively. The current market cap of the company is Rs. 1717.02 crore.

The promoters holding in the company stood at 89.71%, while Institutions and Non-Institutions held 6.34% and 3.94% respectively.

The Foundation Stone of National Fertilizers’ (NFL) Bentonite Sulphur Plant at Panipat has been laid on August 08, 2016 by Ananth Kumar, Union Minister of Chemicals & Fertilizers and Parliamentary Affairs. This will be the first Bentonite Sulphur Plant in the country in public sector.

The plant with a 25,000 MT per annum production capacity will commence production within a period of 14 months. Bentonite Sulphur is used in wide variety of crops including paddy, wheat, sugarcane, pulses and oil seeds.

National Fertilizers is second largest producer of Nitrogenous Fertilizers in the India commanding 16.5% of market share. The company also manufactures spectrum of industrial products which include Methanol, Sodium Nitrate, Sodium Nitrite, Nitric Acid, Sulphur, Liquid Oxygen, Liquid CO2, Liquid Nitrogen etc.
