Piramal Enterprises rises on receiving nod to sell its lending portfolio

Piramal Enterprises is currently trading at Rs. 1901.40, up by 16.95 points or 0.90% from its previous closing of Rs. 1884.45 on the BSE.

The scrip opened at Rs. 1905.00 and has touched a high and low of Rs. 1916.85 and Rs. 1881.60 respectively. So far 1,580 shares were traded on the counter.

The BSE group 'A' stock of face value Rs. 2 has touched a 52 week high of Rs. 2095.00 on 22-Aug-2016 and a 52 week low of Rs. 830.00 on 22-Sep-2015.

Last one week high and low of the scrip stood at Rs. 1961.70 and Rs. 1867.05 respectively. The current market cap of the company is Rs. 32,808.56 crore.

The promoters holding in the company stood at 51.58%, while Institutions and Non-Institutions held 30.80% and 17.63% respectively.

Piramal Enterprises has received an approval to down-sell a part of the company’s lending portfolio, forming part of its financial services business, to its wholly owned subsidiary Piramal Finance, for a net consideration of Rs 1,450 crore.

The empowered Committee of Directors at its meeting held on September 20, 2016 has approved for the same. The relevant agreements to give effect to this would be executed and the proposal is expected to be completed by end-October 2016.
