Pakistan PM gone beyond all shame by calling 'terrorist a leader': R.K. Singh

22 Sep 2016 Evaluate

Coming down heavily on Pakistan Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif for not mentioning the Uri terror attack at the 71st session of United Nations General Assembly (UNGA), former home secretary and Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader R.K. Singh said that Sharif has exposed himself to the entire world. Singh said that Nawaz Sharif ignored the Uri terror attack naturally because he could not have mentioned it. The whole world knows that this was an attack organized and sponsored by the Pakistani army and the ISI. So, naturally he did not want to mention. Imagine the Pakistan PM is calling a terrorist as a leader. Pakistan has gone beyond all shame. The PM has exposed himself and the entire country and the true nature of the country has come out.

Further escalating his attack on Pakistan, Singh said Islamabad is the crucible where terrorists are made, adding that 90 percent of radicalisation takes place there. Singh added that Pakistan is a problem for the whole world. Pakistan has given shelter to terrorists. It is sponsoring attacks on American soldiers in Afghanistan. They are making it difficult for the United States to exit Afghanistan. They have given shelter to Hafiz Saeed, Dawood Ibrahim, Maulana Masood Azhar, and the entire Haqqani network is sheltered there. Singh said Pakistan is the place where terrorists are brought up, nurtured, trained and given shelter. He further added that the whole world needs to sit down and realize that unless and until they deal with Pakistan, terrorism in the world won't go away.

India has strongly criticised Sharif's speech, in which he not only raked up Kashmir protests, but also hailed Hizbul Mujahideen terrorist Burhan Wani as a young Kashmiri leader. He said Pakistan will continue to support voices in Kashmir for self-determination. Sharif also extended support to the demands of the Kashmiri people for self determination and called on the UN Security Council to hold a free and fair plebiscite. He said that the Security Council has called for the exercise of the right to self- determination by the people of Jammu and Kashmir through a free and fair plebiscite held under the UN auspices. The Security Council must honour its commitments by implementing its own decisions.
