Essar Shipping flares up on bagging two contracts worth $25 million

Essar Shipping is currently trading at Rs 30.15, up by 3.15 points or 11.67% from its previous closing of Rs 27.00 on the BSE.

The scrip opened at Rs 28.00 and has touched a high and low of Rs 31.20 and Rs 27.20 respectively. So far 169598  shares were traded on the counter.

The BSE group 'B' stock of face value Rs 10 has touched a 52 week high of Rs 95.00 on 15-Nov-2011 and a 52 week low of Rs 16.20 on 19-Dec-2011.

Last one week high and low of the scrip stood at Rs 31.20 and Rs 26.50 respectively. The current market cap of the company is Rs 618 crore.

The promoters holding in the company stood at 83.71% while Institutions and Non-Institutions held 8.53% and 7.76% respectively.

Essar Shipping has received two contracts for land rigs, one in Brunei and one in India. The Company estimates revenues from these two contracts to be around $25 million.

The company has recently bagged $121-million contract to drill offshore wells in Indonesia. As per the contract, the company would drill 11 offshore wells for the US-based ConocoPhillips.

Essar Shipping has an enviable track record of accident free/pollution free transportation. The company, through its operating track record of over 30 years has significant expertise in sea transportation and supply chain management services to steel industry, cement industry, refining industry, fertilizer industry and electricity generating companies.
