Sandur Manganese and Iron Ores’ (SMIORE) has received the receipt of order dated April 20, 2012 of the Supreme Court (SC) for resumption of mining operations by Category 'A' mines.

Earlier, SMIORE’s mining operations in the entire Bellary, district of Karnataka had been suspended by the Supreme Court of India vide its order dated July 29, 2011.

The major activities of Sandur Manganese & Iron Ores are mining of finest low grade, low phosphorous, manganese and iron ores, facility for production of ferroalloys and management of hydro-electric power generation.
