NMDC inks MoU with Midhani for tungsten ore mining

NMDC has inked a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Mishra Dhatu Nigam (Midhani) for mining and development of processing technology for tungsten used in strategic defence areas. The technology could also be used converting tungsten ore to APT and tungsten powder.

The partnership will lead to a win-win venture in developing the identified tungsten mineral assets in India and abroad. The tungsten metal is of strategic importance to the country, and is used in the manufacture of tungsten-based heavy alloy ammunition systems for armed forces.

NMDC is a state-controlled mineral producer of the Government of India. It is fully owned by the Government of India and is under administrative control of the Ministry of Steel.
