Ambuja Cements jumps on reporting 40% rise in Q3 consolidated net profit

Ambuja Cements is currently trading at Rs. 244.00, up by 0.80 points or 0.33% from its previous closing of Rs. 243.20 on the BSE.

The scrip opened at Rs. 243.10 and has touched a high and low of Rs. 245.95 and Rs. 242.25 respectively. So far 70733 shares were traded on the counter.

The BSE group 'A' stock of face value Rs. 2 has touched a 52 week high of Rs. 282.00 on 31-Aug-2016 and a 52 week low of Rs. 185.00 on 29-Feb-2016.

Last one week high and low of the scrip stood at Rs. 245.95 and Rs. 235.55 respectively. The current market cap of the company is Rs. 48340.53 crore.

The promoters holding in the company stood at 61.62%, while institutions and non-institutions held 31.40% and 6.98% respectively.

Ambuja Cements has reported 80.39% jump in its net profit at Rs 277.02 crore for the quarter ended September 30, 2016, as compared to Rs 153.57 crore for the same quarter in the previous year. Total income of the company increased by 3.19% at Rs 2254.62 crore for the quarter under review as compared Rs 2184.97 crore for the corresponding quarter previous year.      

On the consolidated basis, the company has reported 40.39% rise in its net profit after taxes, minority interest and share of profit of associates at Rs 216.11 crore for the quarter ended September 30, 2016 as compared to Rs 153.93 crore for the same quarter in the previous year. Total Income of the company has increased by over two fold to Rs 4678.45 crore for quarter under review from Rs 2188.13 crore for the quarter ended September 30, 2015.
