Reliance Communications (RCom) has reportedly hived off its Machine-to-Machine (M2M) communication business into a new Internet of Things (IoT) business entity called ‘Unlimit’. The company has partnered with Cisco Jasper, Cisco’s IoT business division, to launch its first few IoT products in India under Unlimit.
RCom had tied up with IoT company Jasper last year post which the company was acquired by Cisco. Now called Cisco Jasper, the company will offer its IoT platform and other IoT products to Unlimit under a revenue share agreement.
Reliance Communications is India’s foremost and truly-integrated telecommunications service provider. The company has a customer base of over 111 million, including over 2.6 million individual overseas retail customers.
