Didi fires fresh salvo, says modi Govt. following feudal landlord system

23 Nov 2016 Evaluate

Carrying forward her protest against the BJP-led NDA regime over the demonetisation of high-value currency notes, West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee alleged that Prime Minister Narendra Modi is following a feudal landlord system whereby he is snatching the earnings of the poor. ‘After coming to power, this government has paid no heed to the grievances of the people. This government has lost its credibility in the eyes of the general public and if credentials are lost then everything is lost. This government has courtesy this move brought in a feudal landlord system whereby the earnings of the poor are being snatched,’ said Banerjee during the protest at the Jantar Mantar.

The Trinamool Congress (TMC) supremo also alleged that the government’s demonetization move has shuffled the Indian economy and added that the ruiling dispensation at the Centre should understand that this unwarranted move is affecting the normal lives of the common people. She said that most of the industries are on standstill, labour and working class is not getting their daily wages. Nobody will support the BJP in near future, even their own workers will abonden them. Mamata is presently staging a sit-in protest at the Jantar Mantar pressing PM to rollback the policy in view of inconvenience caused to the general public. Early, following an uproar by opposition parties over the demonetization issue, the Lok Sabha has been adjourned till tomorrow.

Union Minister Ananth Kumar said the government is ready for a debate and discussion on all aspects of demonetization. Union Minister for Information and Broadcasting M. Venkaiah Naidu said that the parliament session is very important. Poor people want demonetisation to be a success, they see Prime Minister as their messiah; opposition is overlooking the public's mood. Opposition is not allowing a discussion in the house by creating uproar. On the contrary, they are putting the blame on government.

As the opposition parties continue demanding a debate, Lok Sabha Speaker Sumitra Mahajan has turned down the demands of opposition parties for an adjournment motion on demonetisation. Congress vice-president Rahul Gandhi, while leaving the Parliament, said the grand old party wants a debate under the adjournment motion and the government is scared to allow that.
