Tata Steel to keep UK Port Talbot plant operational: Report

Tata Steel, one of the world’s biggest steelmakers, is reportedly planning to keep its Port Talbot plant in South Wales, the UK’s biggest steelworks, fully operational. The company is exploring a joint venture (JV) with Germany’s ThyssenKrupp and one of the options would have meant job losses at the plant employing around 4,000 as a result of shutting down of one of two blast furnaces on the site.

Tata Steel, the flagship company of the Tata group is the first integrated steel plant in Asia and is now the world’s second most geographically diversified steel producer and a Fortune 500 Company.
