SAIL gains despite reporting net loss of Rs 731.58 crore in Q2

Steel Authority of India (SAIL) is currently trading at Rs. 55.40, up by 0.25 points or 0.45% from its previous closing of Rs. 55.15 on the BSE.

The scrip opened at Rs. 55.15 and has touched a high and low of Rs. 55.85 and Rs. 54.40 respectively. So far 575673 shares were traded on the counter.

The BSE group 'A' stock of face value Rs. 10 has touched a 52 week high of Rs. 55.85 on 12-Dec-2016 and a 52 week low of Rs. 33.50 on 12-Feb-2016.

Last one week high and low of the scrip stood at Rs. 55.85 and Rs. 49.70 respectively. The current market cap of the company is Rs. 22862.46 crore.

The promoters holding in the company stood at 75.00%, while institutions and non-institutions held 20.42% and 4.58% respectively.

SAIL has reported a net loss of Rs 731.58 crore for the quarter under review as compared to a net loss of Rs 1108.04 crore for the same quarter in the previous year. Total income of the company increased by 20.69% at Rs 12645.76 crore for the quarter under review as compared Rs 10478.08 crore for the corresponding quarter previous year.

SAIL is India’s largest steel producing company. The company is among the five Maharatnas of the country’s Central Public Sector Enterprises. The company has five integrated steel plants, three special plants, and one subsidiary in different parts of the country.
