Globus Spirits (GSL), a leading player in the spirits sector has signed a franchisee bottling agreement with United Spirits (USL) in the state of Haryana. The initial contract will contribute volumes of 0.75 million cases per year and is expected to ramp up significantly going forward. The operations have already commenced on April 20, 2012 with bottling for Bagpiper Whisky and will be followed by Moghul Monarch and Derby Special.
The above agreement with USL is already in addition to the existing bottling tie-up with ABD for 1.2 million cases annually. The arrangement further strengthens the company's alliances in the franchisee bottling segment and will enable guaranteed utilisation of capacities coupled with higher margins compared to the sale of bulk spirit.
GSL is engaged in the business of manufacture, marketing and selling of Industrial Alcohol (comprising RS and ENA), CL and IMFL. The company has a well established position in domestic CL segment with significant market share (22%, 17% and 20% share in Rajasthan, Haryana and Delhi respectively).
