Physical Rubber prices witness firmness on Thursday

Physical Rubber prices extended its firmness on Thursday on enquiries from tyre sector as sellers stayed back tracking the sharp gains in the global markers. Spot prices for RSS-4 variety jumped to 138/ kg compared to its previous closing of Rs 134/ kg; while the RSS-5 variety climbed to 131/ kg compared to its previous closing of Rs 129/ kg.

In the futures market, January delivery weakened to Rs 140.79 compared to its previous closing of Rs 143.26, while February delivery closed at Rs 143.97 compared to its previous close of Rs 146.02 on the National Multi Commodity Exchange (NMCE).
