Physical rubber prices showed some weakness on Thursday as the increasing trend in rubber production in the country continues and the production of natural rubber during November shows an increase of 18.9% compared to the production during the same period last year. Spot prices for RSS-4 variety declined to Rs 137/ kg compared to its previous closing of Rs 137.50/ kg; while the RSS-5 variety remained unchanged at Rs 130/ kg.
In the futures market, January delivery declined to Rs 137.50 compared to its previous closing of Rs 139.27, while February delivery closed at Rs 140.17 compared to its previous close of Rs 142.23 on the National Multi Commodity Exchange (NMCE).
