Universal Cables plunges on reporting 77% fall in Q4 net profit

Universal Cables is currently trading at Rs. 37.65, down by 0.85 points or 2.21% from its previous closing of Rs. 38.50 on the BSE.

The scrip opened at Rs. 38.00 and has touched a high and low of Rs. 38.00 and Rs. 37.65 respectively.

The BSE group 'B' stock of face value Rs. 10 has touched a 52 week high of Rs. 72.75 on 16-May-2011 and a 52 week low of Rs. 29.40 on 26-Dec-2011.

Last one week high and low of the scrip stood at Rs. 40.00 and Rs. 37.15 respectively. The current market cap of the company is Rs. 87.89 crore.

The promoters holding in the company stood at 52.92% while Institutions and Non-Institutions held 4.37% and 42.71% respectively.

On the standalone basis, the company has posted a fall of 76.95% in its net profit at Rs 1.18 crore for the quarter ended March 31, 2012 as compared to Rs 5.12 crore for the same quarter in the previous year.  However, total income has increased by 28.63% at Rs 170.63 crore for quarter under review as compared to Rs 132.65 crore for the quarter ended March 31, 2011.
