Suzlon Group inks contract worth Rs 305.32 crore with GMDC

Suzlon Group, the world's fifth leading and India’s largest wind turbine manufacturer has signed a contract for a 50 MW project with Gujarat Mineral Development Corporation (GMDC). The project which comprises of 24 units of Suzlon’s S95 - 2.1 MW wind turbines, featuring DFIG technology, is set to be commissioned in the Jamnagar district of Gujarat and is worth Rs 305.32 crore.

GMDC currently has an existing installed base of 100.50 MW, out of which the major part - over 60 MW - has been supplied by the company and is operating in sites across Gujarat. The new order takes GMDC’s total installed capacity to 150.50 MW.

Suzlon Group comprises of Suzlon Energy and its subsidiaries, including Repower Systems SE. Suzlon Energy is leader in wind energy in the India, which is world’s fifth largest wind energy market. Its business model has range of services that include development, manufacturing, marketing, EPC project delivery and operations and maintenance of wind turbine generators around the world.
