Religare Enterprises, a healthcare and financial services major’s - health insurance company - Religare Health Insurance, has been registered as a General Insurer under Section 3 of the Insurance Act, 1938 with the Insurance Regulatory and Development Authority (IRDA). Pursuant to this, the Certificate of Registration (Form IRDA/ R3) has been issued by the Authority on April 26, 2012.
With this registration, the total number of general insurers registered with the Authority has gone up to 25.
Religare Health Insurance is a joint venture between Religare Enterprises, Union Bank of India and Corporation Bank. Religare Enterprises (REL) is engaged in providing financial products and services. REL provides services across three segments namely retail, institutional and wealth.
