Physical Rubber prices showed some weakness on Friday, tracking the declines in the global indices. The markets fell after Thailand's decision to sell rubber from the state stockpiles to ease shortages following flash floods that hit the country’s main production region. Spot prices for RSS-4 variety declined to 150/ kg compared to its previous closing of Rs 150.50/ kg; while the RSS-5 variety dipped to 143/ kg compared to its previous closing of Rs 144/ kg.
In the futures market, February delivery declined to Rs 149 compared to its previous closing of Rs 150.43, while March delivery closed at Rs 155.04 compared to its previous close of Rs 156.58 on the National Multi Commodity Exchange (NMCE).
