India’s Oilmeal export jumps 131% in January: SEA

India’s Oilmeal export during the month of January 2017 recorded a sharp surge getting support from the high demand for soyabean meal and groundnut meal. During the month, exports moved up sharply by 131% and reached 165,980 tons, according to the data compiled by the Solvent Extractors Association of India (SEA).

India's overall Oilmeal export during April 2016 to January 2017 is reported at 1,335,894 tons compared to 1,300,465 tons during the same period of last year.

Major importers of Indian Oilmeal are South Korea, Vietnam and France, which imported 461,262 tons, 213,920 tons and 126,411 tons of Oilmeals respectively. Soyabean meal exports from the country in January dropped to 155,160 as against the previous month, but this continued to hold the largest share of about 90% in the total Oilmeal exports.
