In the wake of the latest political developments in Tamil Nadu, the Congress trained its guns on Prime Minister Narendra Modi and said the biggest road-block in forming a stable government in the state is the BJP-led NDA regime at the Centre. Asserting that the people of Tamil Nadu should have a stable government, Surjewala said that they should be provided with 'Citizen Services' soon.

Randeep Surjewala said that the biggest road-block in forming a stable government in Tamil Nadu is Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and the Modi government. Meanwhile, Tamil Nadu Governor Ch Vidyasagar Rao has invited Edappadi K Palanisami to form the government. He is expected to be sworn-in as the state's new chief minister at 4 p.m. at the Raj Bhawan today.

Palanisami, owing allegiance to the V.K. Sasikala camp in the AIADMK, is at present the state PWD Minister and the party headquarters secretary. Earlier, on invitation from the Governor, he called on him at Raj Bhawan and reiterated his position that he enjoys the confidence of majority MLAs.
