NMDC trades with traction on the bourses

NMDC is currently trading at Rs. 139.85, up by 3.55 points or 2.60% from its previous closing of Rs. 136.30 on the BSE.

The scrip opened at Rs. 136.50 and has touched a high and low of Rs. 141.10 and Rs. 135.20 respectively. So far 197816 shares were traded on the counter.

The BSE group 'A' stock of face value Rs. 1 has touched a 52 week high of Rs. 150.00 on 01-Feb-2017 and a 52 week low of Rs. 78.55 on 25-Feb-2016.

Last one week high and low of the scrip stood at Rs. 148.05 and Rs. 132.35 respectively. The current market cap of the company is Rs. 44452.66 crore.

The promoters holding in the company stood at 74.94%, while institutions and non-institutions held 21.63% and 3.43% respectively.

NMDC is in discussions with Vietnam-based Masan Resources to acquire a considerable stake in its Nui Phao polymetallic mine. The mine, which has rich reserves of tungsten mineral, is located in Thai Nguyen province in Northern Vietnam. A decision will be arrived only after a due diligence. At present, India mostly imports tungsten for its domestic requirements due to high production cost of the metal.

NMDC is a state-controlled mineral producer of the Government of India. It is fully owned by the Government of India and is under administrative control of the Ministry of Steel.
