The gloomy clouds are hovering over the country’s largest political party - BJP in Karnataka state as its leader and former Chief Minister Yeddyurappa is likely to take call on his future in politics. “I will consult MPs, MLAs and my supporters today and announce my decision by 4 pm”, Yeddyurappa.
Apparently, Yeddyurappa has been pressurizing the party high command to reinstate him as the state chief minister. However, the recent order by Supreme Court directing CBI to investigate Yeddyurappa’s role in the mining scam led to ignorance from BJP.
The former Karnataka chief minister had resigned on July 31, 2011 following the allegations from opposition and pressure from his party - BJP’s high command. Besides mining irregularities, Yeddyurappa was accused for allotment of prime land in Bangalore in favour of his sons. According to reports, Yeddyurappa’s family bought the land for Rs 40 lakh and sold for Rs 20 crore, resulting in huge profits. Following this then Chief Minister declared his assets, however, this could not stop from getting arrested on October 15, 2011. However, was given clean-chit by the High Court of Karnataka and since then Yeddyurappa has been pressurizing BJP high command to reinstate his Chief Ministership but this new investigations shattered his dream.
