Jindal Stainless (Hisar) (JSHL) has signed a License Agreement with Defence Research & Development Organisation (DRDO) which entails Transfer of Technology for manufacturing High Nitrogen Steel (HNS) for armour applications.
With this, the company has now become the India’s first company to commercially manufacture High Nitrogen Steel (HNS) for the defence sector. The use of HNS will replace the Jackal Armour Steel, existing material which is mostly being imported into the country, which will result into 50% cost efficiency in material acquisition.
