Videocon Industries shines on plan to raise $51.02 million via GDR

Videocon Industries is currently trading at Rs. 171.80, up by 1.60 points or 0.94% from its previous closing of Rs. 170.20 on the BSE.

The scrip opened at Rs. 169.50 and has touched a high and low of Rs. 173.00 and Rs. 166.05 respectively. So far 29800 shares were traded on the counter.

The BSE group 'A' stock of face value Rs. 10 has touched a 52 week high of Rs. 219.00 on 30-Jun-2011 and a 52 week low of Rs. 162.00 on 25-Nov-2011.

Last one week high and low of the scrip stood at Rs. 173.00 and Rs. 166.05 respectively. The current market cap of the company is Rs. 5157.43 crore.

The promoters holding in the company stood at 68.24 % while Institutions and Non-Institutions held 12.58 % and 14.36 % respectively.

Diversified business house Videocon Industries is planning to raise $51.02 million through issue of securities on a private placement basis from overseas market. In this regard, the company will issue 1,57,50,000 Global Depository Receipts (GDR) amounting to $51.02 million representing 1,57,50,000 equity shares.

The securities will be issued to LLIC Sarl at a price of $3.2395 apiece, equivalent to Rs 174 per equity share.

Videocon Industries, established two decades ago, is a global conglomerate with market capitalization of $2.5 billion. Videocon’s businesses’ consists of manufacturing, marketing & distribution of consumer electronics products and oil & gas extraction.
