JSW Steel reports 15% growth in crude steel production in March

JSW Steel has reported monthly crude steel production of 1.45 million tonnes (MT) in March 2017 with a growth of 15% over the corresponding month in 2016. The production of rolled products (flat) during the month increased to 1.05 MT, a rise of 16%, as compared to 0.90 MT in March 2016. The production of rolled products (long) however, decreased to 0.27 MT compared to 0.28 MT in March 2016, representing a decline of 4%. 

Crude steel production for Q4 FY 2016-17 stood at 4.10 MT, highest ever quarterly production with a growth of 28% over corresponding quarter (Q4 FY 2015-16) and 6% over Q3 FY 2016-17. For FY 2016-17, the company recorded crude steel production of 15.8 MT registering a growth of 26% over previous year. The company achieved 100% of production guidance of 15.75 MT, given at the beginning of FY 2016-17.

JSW Steel is one of the largest steel manufacturing companies in India having units in Karnataka and Maharashtra producing crude steel, long steel and flat steel products.
