Bharti Airtel rings loud on the bourses

Bharti Airtel is currently trading at Rs. 347.70, up by 2.20 points or 0.64% from its previous closing of Rs. 345.50 on the BSE.

The scrip opened at Rs. 345.00 and has touched a high and low of Rs. 348.40 and Rs. 343.70 respectively. So far 11791 shares were traded on the counter.

The BSE group 'A' stock of face value Rs. 5 has touched a 52 week high of Rs. 400.65 on 23-Feb-2017 and a 52 week low of Rs. 283.95 on 09-Nov-2016.

Last one week high and low of the scrip stood at Rs. 350.50 and Rs. 337.70 respectively. The current market cap of the company is Rs. 138989.60 crore.

The promoters holding in the company stood at 67.14%, while institutions and non-institutions held 26.39% and 6.47% respectively.

Airtel Payments Bank, offered by telecom major Bharti Airtel, has opened over one lakh savings accounts in Madhya Pradesh. Approximately 70% of these accounts have been opened in rural areas, thereby, contributing to financial inclusion in the State. Airtel Payments Bank, a fully digital and paperless bank, aims to take basic banking services to the doorstep of every Indian by leveraging Airtel’s vast retail network.

In Madhya Pradesh, over 30,000 neighborhood Airtel retail stores also function as banking points, and customers can open savings accounts, deposit and withdraw cash across any of these banking points. Majority of these banking points across the State are in rural areas, helping in extending the reach of services to unbanked regions.
