OMC’s rally as consensus builds on petrol price hike

OMC’s are trading in fine fettle for second consecutive session as consensus are building on petrol price hike, given a double-digit retail inflation rate. The empowered group of ministers (EGOM), led by finance minister Pranab Mukherjee, will mostly be held after the end of the current session of Parliament and the UPA II’s third anniversary on May 22,2012 to consider fuel price hikes, they could also consider restricting cooking gas (LPG) supply to the higher income groups.

Bharat Petroleum Corporation is currently trading at Rs 731.25, up by 5.55 points or 0.76% from its previous closing of Rs 725.70 on the BSE. The scrip opened at Rs. 735.80 and has touched a high and low of Rs. 737.15 and Rs. 726.75 respectively. So far 28971 shares were traded on the counter.

Hindustan Petroleum Corporation is currently trading at Rs 309.65, up by 2.70 points or 0.88% from its previous closing of Rs 306.95 on the BSE. The scrip opened at Rs 309.00 and has touched a high and low of Rs 311.50 and Rs 308.25 respectively. So far 82096 shares were traded on the counter.

Oil India is currently trading at Rs 441.00, up by 3.65 points or 0.83% from its previous closing of Rs 437.35 on the BSE. The scrip opened at Rs 442.00 and has touched a high and low of Rs 445.00 and Rs 438.25 respectively. So far 18593 shares were traded on the counter.

Oil & Natural Gas Corporation is currently trading at Rs 250.05, up by 3.15 points or 1.28% from its previous closing of Rs 246.90 on the BSE. The scrip opened at Rs 247.85 and has touched a high and low of Rs 250.90 and Rs 247.50 respectively. So far 79265 shares were traded on the counter.
