Shoppers Stop has inaugurated one ‘Crossword’ franchisee store at Pune through its wholly owned subsidiary, Crossword Bookstores. However, one ‘Crossword’ store at Megamart, Banshankari in Bengaluru and at domestic Hyderabad Airport has been closed by the company. At present company has total of 83 Crossword stores.
Earleir, in April, Shoppers Stop's wholly owned subsidiary Crossword Bookstores closed one ‘Crossword’ franchise store located at Jaipur with effect from March 31, 2012.
Shoppers Stop is engaged in the retailing business. It runs a chain of departmental stores with brands including Shopper’s Stop, Home Stop, Crossword, Cafes and Restaurants etc.
