Mercator gains with arm commencing drilling of new exploratory well in Gujarat

Mercator is currently trading at Rs. 52.70, up by 0.05 points or 0.09% from its previous closing of Rs. 52.65 on the BSE.

The scrip opened at Rs. 53.25 and has touched a high and low of Rs. 53.30 and Rs. 52.40 respectively. So far 54,000 shares were traded on the counter.

The BSE group 'B' stock of face value Rs. 1 has touched a 52 week high of Rs. 55.20 on 24-Apr-2017 and a 52 week low of Rs. 24.55 on 30-May-2016.

Last one week high and low of the scrip stood at Rs. 55.20 and Rs. 48.70 respectively. The current market cap of the company is Rs. 1,422.33 crore.

The promoters holding in the company stood at 34.33%, while Institutions and Non-Institutions held 15.07% and 50.61% respectively.

Mercator’s subsidiary - Mercator Petroleum (MPL) has commenced drilling of new exploratory well Jyoti-5 in its Exploration Block CB-ONN-2005/9 in Cambay Basin, Gujarat.

The Block was awarded to MPL in December 2008 during NELP - VII bidding by Government of India with 100% participating interest. As a part of Minimum Work Program, MPL has already drilled four wells in the Block wherein oil discovery was made in the first two wells namely Jyoti-1 & 2. Jyoti-3 & 4 are yet to be tested. The current drilling campaign will complete the remaining Minimum Work Program in the coming few months.
