SCI gains on taking physical delivery of secondhand Suezmax tanker

Shipping Corporation of India (SCI) is currently trading at Rs. 80.70, up by 0.10 points or 0.12% from its previous closing of Rs. 80.60 on the BSE.

The scrip opened at Rs. 80.60 and has touched a high and low of Rs. 81.35 and Rs. 79.75 respectively. So far 1,03,000 shares were traded on the counter.

The BSE group 'A' stock of face value Rs. 10 has touched a 52 week high of Rs. 84.80 on 21-Apr-2017 and a 52 week low of Rs. 55.75 on 21-Nov-2016.

Last one week high and low of the scrip stood at Rs. 84.80 and Rs. 77.05 respectively. The current market cap of the company is Rs. 3,754.00 crore.

The promoters holding in the company stood at 63.75%, while Institutions and Non-Institutions held 21.29% and 14.96% respectively.

SCI has taken physical delivery of a secondhand Suezmax tanker of 158,710 DWT capacity - m.t. ‘Desh Abhimaan’ (81,084 GT) on April 26, 2017.

The company had recently inked a memorandum of agreement with Fidelity Shipping Corporation, Liberia for acquisition of one suezmax tanker, having deadweight of about 158710 tons.

SCI is the only Indian shipping company operating break-bulk service, international container service, liquid / dry bulk service, offshore service, passenger service, in addition to manning / managing a large number of vessels on behalf of various government departments and organizations.
