US markets once again got a mixed closing on Thursday as uncertainty about the euro zone persisted. Though, the major indices were able to pare some losses in late trading on report that weekly jobless claims dipped modestly for the week ended May 19. However, another data showed that demand for long-lasting manufactured goods rose less than expected in April. But the overall trade remained volatile as investors were concerned about Greece's possible exit from the euro zone on remarks made by Italian Prime Minister Mario Monti that the region might soon issue euro bonds.
