Asian markets are exhibiting mixed trend in the early deals on Tuesday amid subdued trading following the strong gains made in the previous session and tracking the flat close overnight on Wall Street. A lack of major catalysts kept some investors on the sidelines. Meanwhile, Japanese equities dipped as the market ran out of puff after rallying to a 17-month high the previous day, though it was supported well by a confluence of factors like the significantly weaker yen. Among the other Asian markets, Shanghai, Taiwan, Indonesia and Malaysia are all in negative territory. Bucking the trend, Indonesia, Hong Kong, and Singapore is higher. Markets in South Korea are closed for presidential election.
