Piramal Enterprises soars on plan of raising Rs 4,000 crore

Piramal Enterprises is currently trading at Rs. 2546.10, up by 55.95 points or 2.25% from its previous closing of Rs. 2490.15 on the BSE.

The scrip opened at Rs. 2510.00 and has touched a high and low of Rs. 2550.95 and Rs. 2500.00 respectively. So far 4525 shares were traded on the counter.

The BSE group 'A' stock of face value Rs. 2 has touched a 52 week high of Rs. 2630.00 on 03-May-2017 and a 52 week low of Rs. 1203.00 on 12-May-2016.

Last one week high and low of the scrip stood at Rs. 2630.00 and Rs. 2458.95 respectively. The current market cap of the company is Rs. 42970.80 crore.

The promoters holding in the company stood at 51.43%, while institutions and non-institutions held 31.15% and 17.43% respectively.

Piramal Enterprises is reportedly planning to raise up to Rs 4,000 crore by selling shares to institutional investors as the diversified company looks to fuel growth in its financial services business.

The funds will help the company to leverage its balance sheet to raise cheaper debt up to Rs 12,000 crore to lend to Indian companies. The proceeds of the qualified institutional placement will be used primarily to grow its finance business.
