Tenure extension for Gadkari; Yeddyurappa will attend rally to patch up

After the slew of rift with own party, the Karnataka state’s BJP leader BS Yeddyurappa has decided to attend the party’s national executive meet in financial capital, an attempt to conciliation. The national executive meet of the country’s largest opposition party - BJP will be held later today and the party’s President Nitin Gadkari is expected to get his tenure extended.

However, the conflicts within the party are not over and can be seen in the today’s rally wherein two senior leaders - L.K. Advani and Sushama Swaraj have decided to stay away. “Advani’s schedule was fixed earlier so he won’t be there and Swaraj has to attend a programme in Ghaziabad tomorrow morning,” party spokesperson Nirmala Sitharaman said.

The National Executive meet is crucial for the party which induces NDA to show that it has potential to take on the present UPA government in the 2014 elections. BJP is likely to get huge response of the citizens fumed with UPA-2’s actions on the scams, inflation and currency issues.
