Surana Solar emerges lowest bidder for 5 MW Kakinada rooftop project

Surana Solar has emerged as the lowest bidder under the Resco (Renewable Energy Service Company) for the rooftop installation of 5 MW solar power generating units under the Kakinada Smart City Project in Andhra Pradesh. Once the contract is signed, the company will be able to execute the project in six months.

Under the Resco model, the successful bidder has to take up site survey, investigation, design, engineer, supply, install, commission and maintain the grid connected rooftop solar system on net metering basis. The company will supply power to Kakinada Corporation at Rs 5.25 per unit. The overall cost of the project will work out to about Rs 5 crore per MW.

Surana Solar is engaged in the business of manufacturing of solar panels/photo-voltaic (PV) cells. The company is also engaged in the generation of wind power energy and trading of other solar related products.
