HPCL strengthens on buzz of plans to raise $500 million by selling dollar bonds

Hindustan Petroleum Corporation (HPCL) is currently trading at Rs. 519.10, up by 6.70 points or 1.31% from its previous closing of Rs. 512.40 on the BSE.

The scrip opened at Rs. 511.90 and has touched a high and low of Rs. 519.70 and Rs. 510.10 respectively. So far 48873 shares were traded on the counter.

The BSE group 'A' stock of face value Rs. 10 has touched a 52 week high of Rs. 584.45 on 14-Feb-2017 and a 52 week low of Rs. 326.94 on 29-Jun-2016.

Last one week high and low of the scrip stood at Rs. 519.70 and Rs. 491.00 respectively. The current market cap of the company is Rs. 52658.23 crore.

The promoters holding in the company stood at 51.11%, while Institutions and Non-Institutions held 26.46% and 22.43% respectively.

HPCL, one of the biggest giants in the oil industry in India, is reportedly planning to raise at least $500 million by selling US dollar bonds to investors in Asia and Europe. The money raised will be used to refinance existing debt and to meet some capital expenditure.

HPCL is an Indian state-owned oil and natural gas company with its headquarters at Mumbai, Maharashtra. It has about 25% marketing share in India among PSUs and a strong marketing infrastructure.
