CIL’s e-auction of coal sales increases by 32% in Q1FY18

Coal India’s (CIL) e-auction of coal sales was up by around 32 percent to 32.7 million tonne during the first quarter of FY 2017-18. During April-June 2017, the PSU coal mining behemoth has booked 32.7 million tonne of coal through different e-auction schemes against 24.8 million tonne in the same quarter in the previous fiscal, a surge of 7.9 million tonne. In 2016-17, the company had booked 113.8 million tonne of coal through e-auction mode.

Coal India (CIL) is the world’s largest coal mining company. It also produces non-coking coal and coking coal of various grades for diverse applications.
