Tata Steel surges on reporting consolidated net profit of Rs 921.09 crore in Q1

Tata Steel is currently trading at Rs. 618.30, up by 18.30 points or 3.05% from its previous closing of Rs. 600.00 on the BSE.

The scrip opened at Rs. 611.00 and has touched a high and low of Rs. 624.35 and Rs. 605.50 respectively. So far 658913 shares were traded on the counter.

The BSE group 'A' stock of face value Rs. 10 has touched a 52 week high of Rs. 624.35 on 08-Aug-2017 and a 52 week low of Rs. 355.40 on 19-Sep-2016.

Last one week high and low of the scrip stood at Rs. 624.35 and Rs. 558.00 respectively. The current market cap of the company is Rs. 60273.63 crore.

The promoters holding in the company stood at 31.85%, while Institutions and Non-Institutions held 44.01% and 23.06% respectively.

The company has reported 11.99% fall in its net profit at Rs 506.45 crore for first quarter ended June 30, 2017 as compared to Rs 575.43 crore for the same quarter in the previous year. However, the total income of the company increased by 39.36% at Rs 14533.86 crore for Q1FY18 as compared Rs 10428.98 crore for the corresponding quarter previous year.

On consolidate basis, the company has reported a net profit of Rs 921.09 crore for the quarter ended June 30, 2017 as against a net loss of Rs 3183.07 crore for the corresponding quarter in the FY17. Total consolidated income of the company increased by 19.24% at Rs 31128.80 crore for quarter under review as compared to Rs 26107.09 crore for the same quarter in the previous year.
