Euro Multivision lags operating solar photovoltaic cells unit at full capacity due to cost escalation

05 Jun 2012 Evaluate

Euro Multivision has been unable to operate solar photovoltaic cells unit at full capacity as the cost of production of solar cells continues to be higher than the prevailing market prices.

The company has incurred significant losses due to severe fall in prices of solar photovoltaic cells globally on account of reduced demand, reductions in feed-in-tariffs and other subsidies in major markets have generated a negative sentiment for photovoltaic (PV) installations.

Euro Multivision manufactures optical storage devices, including recordable compact disks (CDRs), and recordable digital versatile disks (DVDRs). With annual capacity of 180 million CDRs, its plant is located in the Kutch district of Gujarat.
