A Raja, 2G scam’s last accused who walked off Tihar Jail on May 15 was restricted to enter his hometown state Tamil Nadu, however, has now got permission from a Delhi court to visit the state between June 08 and June 30, 2012. Raja has pleaded to visit Tamil Nadu as he had not visited his home town since last one-and-half year.

Special CBI Judge OP Saini allowed the plea. 'A Raja is allowed to visit his home state Tamil Nadu from June 8 to June 30 subject to conditions as were imposed upon him in the bail order dated May 15,' Saini said. In the plea, A Raja also cited that the trial proceedings would not be undertaken from June 9 to June 30 owing to summer vacation.

Last month, while granting bail, court had demanded a personal bond of Rs 20 lakh and two sureties of same amount. The court also conditioned that the released accused will not visit his home town Tamil Nadu and office of Department of Telecom. Also, Raja was ordered to submit his passport to the same court.

The former telecom minister has been accused for selling the 2G spectrum at throw-away prices and causing a loss of Rs 1.4 crore to the government.
