NMDC zooms on plan to increase production capacity to 67 mtpa by FY22

NMDC is currently trading at Rs. 131.45, up by 4.95 points or 3.91% from its previous closing of Rs. 126.50 on the BSE.

The scrip opened at Rs. 127.10 and has touched a high and low of Rs. 131.90 and Rs. 127.05 respectively. So far 452949 shares were traded on the counter.

The BSE group 'A' stock of face value Rs. 1 has touched a 52 week high of Rs. 152.50 on 02-Mar-2017 and a 52 week low of Rs. 100.30 on 16-Sep-2016.

Last one week high and low of the scrip stood at Rs. 131.90 and Rs. 120.25 respectively. The current market cap of the company is Rs. 41431.15 crore.

The promoters holding in the company stood at 74.94%, while Institutions and Non-Institutions held 21.28% and 3.78% respectively.

In a bid to cater to the steel industry’s growing appetite for iron ore, NMDC has decided to raise production capacity to 67 million tonnes per annum (mtpa) by 2021-22. In this regards, the company is looking to expand its footprint in India and abroad. The strategy focuses on growth largely through brownfield expansion of existing mines and improving evacuation along with it.

NMDC is a state-controlled mineral producer of the Government of India. It is fully owned by the Government of India and is under administrative control of the Ministry of Steel.
