BPCL trades with traction on the bourses

Bharat Petroleum Corporation (BPCL) is currently trading at Rs. 504.15, up by 5.20 points or 1.04% from its previous closing of Rs. 498.95 on the BSE.

The scrip opened at Rs. 498.50 and has touched a high and low of Rs. 504.80 and Rs. 494.20 respectively. So far 102590 shares were traded on the counter.

The BSE group 'A' stock of face value Rs. 10 has touched a 52 week high of Rs. 546.15 on 04-Sep-2017 and a 52 week low of Rs. 386.33 on 19-Sep-2016.

Last one week high and low of the scrip stood at Rs. 540.00 and Rs. 487.70 respectively. The current market cap of the company is Rs. 109384.57 crore.

The promoters holding in the company stood at 54.93%, while institutions and non-institutions held 30.08% and 14.99% respectively.

BPCL is reportedly in talks with GAIL (India), country’s largest gas distributor, to purchase a majority of government’s stake in latter. The government is yet to approve the plan. Current market capitalization of BPCL is around Rs 1.08 lakh crore, while GAIL India has a market cap of around Rs 64,000 crore.

BPCL is into exploration, production and retailing of petroleum and petrol related products. The retail business unit of BPCL is into marketing of petrol, diesel and kerosene.
