Bond yields traded flat on Tuesday, as the nation’s state-run banks continued buying notes for a fourth straight session yesterday.

In the global market, U.S. Treasury yields rose on Monday as investors prepared for a potentially more hawkish Federal Reserve at its two-day policy meeting this week, after the Bank of England surprised investors last week with talk of a possible rate hike. Furthermore, oil markets were stable, supported by a fall in Saudi Arabian crude exports but capped by an expected rise in U.S. shale output.

Back home, the yields on new 10 year Government Stock were trading flat at its previous close at 6.61% on Monday.

The benchmark five-year interest rates were trading 1 basis point lower at 6.55% from its previous close of 6.56% on Monday.
