Coal India gains on reporting 38.77 MT of production in September 2017

Coal India is currently trading at Rs. 271.00, up by 0.40 points or 0.15% from its previous closing of Rs. 270.60 on the BSE.

The scrip opened at Rs. 273.00 and has touched a high and low of Rs. 274.40 and Rs. 269.25 respectively. So far 224529 shares were traded on the counter.

The BSE group 'A' stock of face value Rs. 10 has touched a 52 week high of Rs. 337.30 on 10-Nov-2016 and a 52 week low of Rs. 234.00 on 11-Aug-2017.

Last one week high and low of the scrip stood at Rs. 274.40 and Rs. 250.20 respectively. The current market cap of the company is Rs. 168003.53 crore.

The promoters holding in the company stood at 78.86%, while Institutions and Non-Institutions held 17.89% and 3.25% respectively.

Coal India has reported provisional production of 38.77 million tonnes (MT) in September 2017, as against a target of 38.32 MT. The company’s total off-take for the month of September stood at 43.58 MT, as against a target of 42.34 MT.

Coal India is the world’s largest coal mining company. It also produces non-coking coal and coking coal of various grades for diverse applications.
