Coal India inks wage agreement with workers’ unions

Coal India (CIL) has inked a wage pact with workers’ unions. A Memorandum of Agreement for National Coal Wage Agreement-X has been signed on October 10, 2017 for a period of 5 years from July 1, 2016 to June 30, 2021. This agreement will impact 2.98 lakh coal workers and the total estimated average annual impact would be Rs 5,667 crore.

Coal India (CIL) is the world’s largest coal mining company. It also produces non-coking coal and coking coal of various grades for diverse applications.
