Adhunik Metals has commenced operations from its Kulum captive iron ore mine located in village Deojhar, Kulkum of Barbil Tahasil in Keonjhar District of Orissa in the month of June 2012. The company also has received first consignment from its captive mine of its plant site.
The company had executed mining lease for its Kulkum captive iron ore mine in May 2011 and had started mining operations in May 2012 after receiving requisite approvals. Total lease area of mine is around 85.529 acres. Sourcing iron ore from captive mine will result in substantial saving in raw material cost in given current scenario where iron supplies are constrained.
The company is already operating Ghatkuri Iron ore through its 100% subsidiary Orrisa Management & Minerals (OMML), which is selling the mineral ore in the open market on merchant basis for last three years. OMML will soon start dispatches from it’s another iron ore mine i.e. Suleipat iron ore mine.
