The Asian equity markets appear bullish in early deals on Wednesday as Wall Street settled higher with investors’ sentiments boosted by positive corporate earnings results and higher commodity prices. Japan’s Nikkei share average edged up buoyed by gains in large-cap stocks such as SoftBank, Fanuc and financial companies as global growth hopes lifted the mood across world markets.
Nikkei 225 added 154.28 points or 0.69% to 22,570.76, Hang Seng strengthened 269.66 points or 0.9% to 30,087.73, Shanghai Composite gained 17.17 points or 0.5% to 3,427.66, Taiwan Weighted rose 76.19 points or 0.71% to 10,855.43, FTSE Bursa Malaysia KLCI surged 4.54 points or 0.26% to 1,725.22, KOSPI Index increased 9.1 points or 0.36% to 2,539.80, Straits Times jumped 11.80 points or 0.34% to 3,435.18, and Jakarta Composite was up by 17.64 points or 0.29% to 6,049.50.
