Asian equities are exhibiting mixed trend in the early deals on Thursday as dollar trimmed after Federal Reserve minutes, while Chinese stocks edged lower after Beijing took steps to halt the proliferation of small online lenders. Among the other Asian markets, Hong Kong, Malaysia and Taiwan are trading in green. Bucking the trend, South Korea, Singapore, China and Indonesia are in negative territory. Hang Seng strengthened 20.51 points or 0.07% to 30,024.00, Taiwan Weighted rose 36.19 points or 0.33% to 10,858.78 and FTSE Bursa Malaysia KLCI was up by 0.15 points or 0.01% to 1,723.69.
Shanghai Composite leaped down 29.6 points or 0.86% to 3,400.87, KOSPI Index pared 2.65 points or 0.1% to 2,537.86, Straits Times declined 4 points or 0.12% to 3,426.02 and Jakarta Composite was down by 0.28 points or 0% to 6,069.50.
