Cement stocks are seen reeling under pressure ahead of Competition Commission of India’s (CCI) verdict on an alleged cartelization case. According to a report, the penalty could be about 7% of the average turnover in the last three years and could lead to a de-rating of stocks. Meanwhile, CCI is likely to impose a penalty on 11 top cement companies for cartelistion.
Ambuja Cements is currently trading at Rs 169.70, down by 1.05 points or 0.61% from its previous closing of Rs 170.75 on the BSE. The scrip opened at Rs 165.60 and has touched a high and low of Rs 170.50 and Rs 165.55 respectively. So far 278869 shares were traded on the counter.
