Lupin slips on recalling cholesterol lowering tablets from US market

Lupin is currently trading at Rs. 829.80, down by 4.55 points or 0.55% from its previous closing of Rs. 834.35 on the BSE.

The scrip opened at Rs. 834.50 and has touched a high and low of Rs. 834.95 and Rs. 828.00 respectively. So far 27,000 shares were traded on the counter.

The BSE group 'A' stock of face value Rs. 2 has touched a 52 week high of Rs. 1572.25 on 06-Feb-2017 and a 52 week low of Rs. 818.55 on 15-Nov-2017.

Last one week high and low of the scrip stood at Rs. 840.00 and Rs. 827.90 respectively. The current market cap of the company is Rs. 37,485.00 crore.

The promoters holding in the company stood at 46.80%, while Institutions and Non-Institutions held 40.05% and 13.14% respectively.

Lupin has recalled a single lot of Pravastatin Sodium USP tablets from the US market. Pravastatin Sodium is indicated for reducing levels of bad cholesterol and triglycerides in the blood.

According to the US Food and Drug Administration (USFDA), the company is voluntarily recalling the product due to a pharmacy complaint where one Duloxetine delayed-release capsule, 30mg was found in a Pravastatin Sodium Tablets USP, 40mg bottle. The ongoing Class II recall was initiated on November 17.
